Having a gateway on each coast enables customers to avoid transportinginternet-destined traffic across the country.      Gateway Implementation      The Gateways between the Frame Relay networks and the Internet (Cisco 7500) consists of DS1 and fractional DS1 circuits. On the Internet side of the Gateway, the Customer Access Router connects to the rest of the Sprint Internet Network via a FDDI ring to a Backbone Router. On the Frame Relay side of the Gateway, the Frame Relay switch connects to the customer site via a Frame Relay PVC provisioned between the gateway and the destination switch.      Since there is only one gateway PVC per customer, internet traffic destined for Customer Site B travels across the Gateway, then across the PVC from the Gateway to Customer Site A, then at Site A routed into another PCV destined for Site B.
